Workplace Allies offers fixed fee initial consultations, so you can understand your rights and make an informed decision about how to proceed.

Initial consultations cost $300.00, and include:

• time spent reviewing the relevant documentation and any research prior to the consultation;
• discussions with you and an exploration of strategies to resolve your matter; and
• follow up advice for questions taken on notice (if any).

Initial consultations are not time limited because it is important to us that you get your questions answered – however long that takes.

We offer special fee arrangements for workers who are seeking advice about recovering their wages and entitlements, including:

1. initial consultations fixed at $150.00; and
2. professional fees capped at 25% of the total value of the underpayment claim.

We recognise that participation in the workforce and access to the justice system, is harder for some individuals.

To address these systemic disadvantages, Workplace Allies offers a 10% discount on our professional fees to clients who identify as belonging to one of the following groups:

• women;
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people;
• members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer/questioning, and asexual community;
• individuals from diverse racial or ethnic backgrounds;
• workers under the age of 25 years old;
• workers over the age of 60 years old;
• workers with a disability; and
• workers engaged in low-paid, casual, gig or contract work.

For clients who identify as belonging to two or more of the above groups, the discount applicable to your professional fees will be 15%.

Workplace Allies offers free legal representation to the following individuals or groups of people:

• transgender or gender diverse children who are experiencing difficulties with their school or educational institution;
• workers who have taken parental leave and are facing challenges returning to their pre-parental leave position; and
• workers engaged under ‘modern slavery’ conditions (including forced labour, slavery and child labour).
